Note from Team TraceTogether:
TraceTogether enables community-driven contact tracing. We hope that TraceTogether users who are contact traced, because they were close contacts of other TraceTogether users who are later diagnosed with COVID-19, and who are also at risk of contracting the disease, choose to "pay it forward" and submit their TraceTogether data when asked. This will allow us to more quickly help others in our community, who may have also been exposed to COVID-19.
When a person is contacted by MOH, he/she is required by law to assist in the activity mapping of their movements and interactions, and may be asked to provide any information within his/her knowledge or produce any document or record in his/her possession. This includes location timelines and logs in physical or digital form, including data collected and stored by other popular apps in your phone.
TraceTogether data is just another type of record. It helps a person provide a more accurate representation of their interactions, and minimise the risk of unintentional errors in recounting. It does not include any location data. It only includes information about interactions with other TraceTogether users, with no other personal data.
