If a person is confirmed to be infected with COVID-19, the TraceTogether data in their Token or App will be retrieved by MOH for contact tracing. The data will help MOH identify other TraceTogether users who were in close contact with the infected individual, so they can be quickly guided on the next-steps, and quarantined if necessary, to minimise further transmission of the virus. The use of digital contact tracing tools like TraceTogether has reduced the time taken for contact tracing from 2-3 days to less than a day for most cases. Having more people on board the TraceTogether programme is key to quicker detection and mitigating the spread of the virus.
