The SafeEntry feature in the TraceTogether App is currently available to users who have one of the following identification documents:
- NRIC / Singapore Birth Cert. No.
- FIN (Work Pass)
- FIN (Dependent’s Pass)
- FIN (Student’s Pass)
- FIN (Long Term Visit Pass)
If you have one of the above, please re-register for the app using your NRIC/FIN details.
If your profile falls under the following categories, you won't be able to use the SafeEntry feature in the app yet:
- On a short visit to Singapore
- On diplomatic duties
- Special Pass holder
The team is working on a process to validate passport details with Singapore's immigration in real time, ready around mid-late Dec 2020. Overseas visitors would be able to to do SafeEntry check-in using the app then.
In the meantime, how do I check in to venues that require TraceTogether?
If you have the TraceTogether App:
Show the venue staff that you have the App installed and running, and let the venue staff know your passport number.
If you have the TraceTogether Token:
Present your Token for the QR code on the Token to be scanned.
Why is it important to validate the identity of TraceTogether users? How come it's not sufficient to register with just mobile number?
Identity validation helps to prevent impersonation and duplication of users. It's important for contact tracers to contact the right people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients, and for MOH to send COVID test results to the right users. Your personal details are encrypted, stored in a secure server, and never shared with other users.
